Bristol Cabot Choir
The Bristol Cabot Choir, one of Bristol's finest performing groups, is a mixed voice choir of around 70 singers.
Founded in 1977 as XIV Singers, the choir has gone from strength to strength, and has in recent years performed some of the best-loved pieces in the classical repertoire, including Bach Magnificat, Haydn The Seasons, Mendelssohn Elijah, Orff Carmina Burana and Bach St John's Passion.
The choir gives three concerts a year at major Bristol venues. Part of the choir's ethos is to raise funds to support a small local charity of the year.
We are delighted that local impresario, John Miles MBE, has kindly agreed to become our first Patron.
John, a local businessman, has built up a major entertainments business representing some of the country's top TV and media personalities, including Carol Vorderman and Noel Edmonds.
John was awarded his MBE for many years of tireless work for Breast and Prostate Cancer Charities. He is the Chairman of the Bristol Urological Institute Prostate Cancer Care and Research Appeal, based at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
